30 years ago today, Beastie Boys released their groundbreaking 2nd album, PAUL’S BOUTIQUE.
In 2009 I was invited to reimagine an Lp sleeve of my choice for Beck’s “Music Inspired Art” project. I chose Paul’s Boutique (then celebrating the 20th anniversary) and illustrated the iconic Lower East Side street scene, complete with song titles as shop signs + their recording equipment in a treasure chest outside the store front on Rivington.
Aside from a small run of large scale Artist Proofs made for my Museums Sheffield retrospective in 2011, this artwork is being released for the first time as a limited edition screen print in both square and landscape format.
