Rattle Can Portraits – 1993

I took this photo in March 1993, aged 14. Taking inspiration from Part 2 and SoloOne V.O.P, I tried painting a few portraits in aerosol. Photo-realism wasn’t really my specialty so this idea was very short lived.

That’s my brother wearing the Insane Strawberry top. The other guy is our mate Craig, who was a wicked skateboarder. Check out my brother’s photo of him in R.A.D Magazine from the same era. Word.

And here’s another piece I painted later the same year…

E Is For Eko – 1992

Here’s a piece I painted in September 1992 – aged 13. It’s dedicated to my friend Echo, who introduced me to the world of graffiti by bringing copies of Spraycan Art and Subway Art to school the year before. Big up.

The title, ‘E Is For Eko’ was a direct copy of Skore’s ‘O Is For Orange’ piece I’d seen in Hip-Hop Connection around the same time.
